Harnessing the Power of Seasonal Living (And Why Most People Miss It)

Published: April 7, 2026

Today we’re exploring one of my most favorite topics: seasonal living.

Now, I imagine you have something that comes to mind for you when I say this, and today we’re going more deeply into it than you’ve previously done before.

Seasonal living is often misunderstood, but when truly grasped, it’s deeply powerful and holds the potential for some serious healing and becoming.

We’re going to explore seasonal living beyond what you’ve thought of it before.

Not the aesthetic version.
Not the trendy version.
Not the version that lives in food lists and lifestyle swaps on a calendar.

These are all fun and help us get into the spirit of the flow, yet seasonal living is something far more profound.

It is:

  • living in rhythm with life itself
  • remembrance
  • refinement
  • evolution
  • allowing nature to guide your healing, growth, and becoming

The seasons mirror to us our own becoming. Seasonal living offers a blueprint, a framework for the soul’s maturation process and evolution.

Each season carries:

  • a mood
  • an energy
  • a specific invitation

And this is important…

True seasonal living isn’t about what you do according to the calendar. It’s about how you live, love, and evolve in relationship with life.

It is a living relationship with the sacred spiral. The sacred spiral that is always moving, refining, evolving, and guiding.

Why Seasonal Living Matters

Most people on the planet right now feel:

  • tired
  • scattered
  • disconnected
  • overwhelmed
  • burnt out
  • numb

And they think…this is just life. But much of what they’re experiencing is disconnection from rhythm.

We are taught to stay the same all the time. We are expected to maintain summer-like output every single day of the year. To be consistent, productive, “on.” Modern life asks us to override natural fluctuations… and then shames us when we struggle.

We live in a world that is:

  • fast
  • linear
  • disconnected
  • disembodied
  • always-on

And in that world, we override parts of ourselves that are naturally seasonal and in flux:

  • hunger
  • rest
  • breath
  • emotion
  • intuition
  • the natural ebb and flow of our energy

You are living in a world that has taught you to mistrust rhythm. And when we mistrust rhythm, we fall out of relationship with the sacred spiral of existence, and dis-ease is the inevitable result.

Life Moves in Seasons

So when we say “seasonal living,” yes, we are speaking about the four seasons of winter, spring, summer, and autumn, as well as their subseasons. But we are also speaking about something much deeper.

We live within many layered seasons:

  • the seasons of the year
  • the seasons of the day
  • the seasons of a lifetime

Morning is not the same as evening.
Winter is not the same as summer.
Emergence is not the same as release.

Nature is always showing us that life moves in cycles, not straight lines.

This is the sacred spiral.

The sacred spiral of existence where everything is always in motion, always becoming, always shifting. And this is why seasonal living matters.

Because it helps us cooperate with the true nature of reality and to live with greater surrender, faith, and ease. It helps us stop resisting what is natural. It teaches us when to build, when to rest, when to release, when to listen.

Everything in life moves in seasons — and healing becomes more possible when we stop resisting that truth.

What Rhythm Actually Is

So, rhythm is the key here, and it’s what’s underneath all of this. And rhythm is often misunderstood.

Rhythm is not a habitual, rote routine.
Rhythm is not rigidity.
Rhythm is not productivity.

Rhythm is the natural order and movement of life through you.

It is your breath.
Your sleep and wake cycles.
Your digestion.
Your emotional waves.
Your creative energy.

It is expansion and contraction, action and rest. When we live in alignment with the rhythms of nature, we support healing.

And although it may feel counterintuitive, living in alignment with the sacred spiral of existence is the only stable foundation. Most of us think that stable foundations must be fixed, but here’s a little perspective shift for you:

We remain fixed in our following of the rhythm. We remain steadfast in our devotion to the natural evolution and fluctuations of the rhythm, the sacred spiral of existence. From that firm, fixed resolve, we step onto the foundation that is actually always in motion.

Nature’s rhythms are stable because they are alive, responsive, and true, and our sacred discipline anchors us into that surrendered ability to flow with them rather than against them, or trying to control, override, or outsmart them.

Rhythm is the intelligence of life moving through you.

Why Daily Rhythm Must Come First

Now here is where most people miss the entire point. Most people want the depth of root-level healing and seasonal living without a solid foundation of resolve to dance in the rhythm of life.

They want:

  • healing
  • insight
  • ritual
  • growth
  • transformation

But if the nervous system is dysregulated…
if the basics are inconsistent…
if the body does not feel safe…
the deeper nuances and invitations cannot land.

Everything feels chaotic and unsafe, and modern life just piles more of that energy on top of us. We cannot hear and feel the subtleties of the seasons or say yes to the ever-evolving nature of life when we’re in that state.

So, what to do?

First we anchor into a daily rhythm. This is how we stabilize our systems and prepare ourselves for deeper work. You cannot hear the season if your system is in chaos.

Each day has its own seasons. How you live within a single day matters deeply. Daily rhythm is what stabilizes your system enough to receive the deeper work of the sacred spiral. You cannot spiral inward if you are not rooted.

The Foundation: Your Daily Root System

So we begin with the daily foundation to strengthen the roots of your tree, if you will.

I teach five foundational daily practices inside my Everyday Rhythms program, and they’re crucial for all of us to follow for optimal health and well-being from the inside out. They’re not trendy — they’re simply what’s natural and real.

  • Meals of whole foods
  • A consistent practice of deep rest
  • Intentional use of the breath
  • Enjoyable movement
  • Daily self-reflection and management of our energy

These are not wellness habits, life hacks, self-improvement tasks, a checklist, etc. They are the conditions that allow life to flow well through you.

They are your root system. They are your daily anchor within the sacred spiral.

When these are established:

  • the nervous system stabilizes
  • your body feels safer
  • your energy becomes more even
  • your emotions become more intelligible
  • your mind softens
  • healing becomes more possible

Once You Are Rooted…

Once your foundation is steadier, something beautiful begins to happen.

You become more present.
More sensitive.
More available.
More able to hear the subtle invitation of the season.

You begin to notice:

  • what is shifting
  • what is surfacing
  • what is being asked of you
  • what wants to deepen, release, emerge, or be tended

Once you are rooted, the seasons stop feeling abstract — and start becoming intimate.bThe sacred spiral becomes something you feel, not something you think about, and your own journey of evolution and growth becomes sweet and meaningful.

What Seasonal Living Actually Looks Like

So what does this actually look like?

Seasonal living is:

  • listening
  • responding
  • refining
  • participating in the cycles of life consciously

Each season offers:

  • a flavor
  • a teaching
  • a threshold
  • a specific invitation

You begin to sense:

  • what’s ready to emerge
  • what wants to be released
  • what needs tending
  • what truth is trying to come forward

And this is so important: each season’s specific invitation is a different face of the divine coming to mirror something to you.bEvery time we experience a season, we’ll learn something completely different. No two springs are ever the same, for example.

These seasons exist on a calendar, yes, but they’re also available to us at any time, living within us and guiding us through various aspects of our lives — from work projects to parenting to aging to processing a traumatic event to healing the body and mind and more.

We’re in different stages of various aspects of our lives simultaneously, and that’s the beautiful dance of it all.bSeasonal living becomes a lived relationship with the sacred spiral.

Think and feel into seasons as literal expressions we can experience throughout the year, but also metaphorical and energetic expressions and states that reveal:

  • patterns
  • resistance
  • wounds
  • stories
  • gifts
  • the next layer of evolution

Winter may invite:

  • stillness
  • rest
  • listening

Spring may invite:

  • beginnings
  • emergence
  • trust

Summer may invite:

  • expression
  • expansion
  • visibility

Autumn may invite:

  • release
  • boundaries
  • discernment

The seasons reveal what is ready within you. Seasonal living is a conversation with life.

What This Unlocks

When you begin living in daily rhythm and in relationship with the seasons, everything changes.

You catch patterns in real time.
You meet resistance with compassion instead of force.
You trust yourself more.
You feel guided.
You stop self-abandoning.
Healing actually lands.
Your spiritual life deepens naturally.

You stop trying to fix yourself and start listening to yourself.

Because you are no longer fighting the sacred spiral, you are moving with it.

Why This Is Sacred

This is about:

  • resilience
  • sovereignty
  • devotion
  • alignment
  • sustainable healing

It is about a deeper relationship with nature, yourself, and The Divine of Your Heart.

This is the framework for a life that is:

  • more whole
  • more honest
  • less burnt out
  • more rooted in what is real

This is what it means to live inside the sacred spiral consciously.

Practical Entry Point

So if you’re reading this and wondering, Where do I even begin?

Begin simply.

Start here with the daily foundation and let that naturally guide you into deeper practices like aligning more meaningfully with the deeper invitations and nuances of the seasons.

  • eat whole, real foods regularly
  • rest deeply and consistently
  • breathe consciously
  • move daily
  • reflect honestly

And then gently ask:

What is a season I can identify in my life right now? (On the calendar, in my body, in my work, etc.). What is this season already showing me?

Let your foundation make you more available to the wisdom of the sacred spiral already moving through your life. Healing becomes more possible when you live in cooperation with life instead of resistance to it.

Hi, I’m Devon.
I’m not here to help you “fix” yourself. (You’re not broken). I’m here to help you return to yourself and to what’s real, sustainable, and deeply nourishing.

For most of my life, I was disconnected from myself, though I couldn’t have named it at the time. I felt unwell, insecure, and unsure how to actually feel OK in my own skin.
I thought all the health problems, anxiety, exhaustion, and sense of not-quite-rightness were just “normal.”

What changed everything was rhythm.
A redefinition of self-care.
A remembrance of Nature’s wisdom.
Daily rhythm. Seasonal rhythm. Soul-deep rhythm.
Rooted in Nature. Rooted in truth.

Now, it’s my deepest honor to guide others in rebuilding their lives from that same foundation.

Drawing on a background in Integrative Health, Ayurveda, holistic coaching, somatic trauma work, energy healing, and flower essence therapy, my approach is gentle, grounded, and deeply supportive.

Through The InnerSpark Method, I help people simplify, reconnect with what matters, and create sustainable rhythms of self-care that support real energy, real joy, and real healing at the root.
