Hey there! Today we’re going to talk about the ways our bodies speak to us to let us know that our current way of living just isn’t working for them.

We’ll talk about some of those common symptoms that so many sensitive folks experience when burnout, anxiety, and overthinking are rearing their ugly heads.

We’ll talk about 3 ways to begin to build resilience in the physical body so we can finally have our energy and clarity back!

Is your body tired, depleted, and acting out because of a lifetime of cycles of burnout, anxiety, people-pleasing, and just “trying” to make it…?

Digestive problems, hormonal imbalances, headaches, backaches, skin problems, and constant exhaustion are just some of the ways that our bodies speak to us to let us know that the way we’re currently living just isn’t working for them.

So, can we accept that our bodies don’t just up and decide to misbehave out of the blue for no reason?

Can we accept that they are always on our side and have our best interests in mind?

Can we accept that they are working so hard for us at every single second?

Our bodies speak to us through sensations and symptoms, and we’ve gotten really good at overriding these cues, these messages.

We’ve gotten really good at pathologizing their sensations, symptoms, and messages.

Then we end up fixating on the symptoms and viewing them as things we must “fix” right away.

Our individual, specific symptoms CAN offer us guidance on what specifically is out of alignment in ourselves and our lives, and at the end of the day, it’s all connected to the same twofold root cause, whether it’s digestive issues, headaches, backaches, or more.

While we may get caught up in trying to diagnose these things or treat specific symptoms with different things – like taking an herb for our anxiety and doing crazy diets to try to clear our skin – we play whack-a-mole with the symptoms and never actually get to the root cause.

The root cause is to blame for all the different messages our body sends, and it’s the same root cause of why we feel so exhausted, weird, and like there’s something “wrong” with us all the time as sensitive, deep-feeling people.

The twofold root cause of unprocessed, unacknowledged shame and a weak foundation of consistent self-care that addresses the 5 elements of our being and is aligned with nature’s rhythms.

So, if we address this root, we not only support our bodies in finding balance and wholeness and ditching those symptoms, but we also find relief in the other four elements of our being – our emotions and energy, our minds, our connection with Nature and sense of Spirit, and our relationships and social roles.

Here are three things you can do to immediately support your body, regardless of what specific symptoms you’re experiencing.

These three things involve aligning with nature’s rhythms.

The body likes regularity, just as everything in life has a regular rhythms with the sunrise and sunset, tides, seasons, all of it.

Let your body have a consistent schedule and routine to increase its sense of safety so it may be given the space to function optimally.

Sync with Nature’s rhythms through these three ways:

Having a regular sleep and wake schedule – honoring the rhythms of the day and the rhythms of your body and its release of various hormones and its rhythms for healing and housekeeping.

Have regular eating times – three meals per day at around the same time, letting your main meal be taken at midday when the energy of the day is at its peak to ensure optimal digestion and absorption of what you’re eating! We can’t turn food into healing magic unless we actually digest it.

Adjust your lifestyle with the flow of the seasons, rather than keeping everything the same all the time
