All About Seasonal Living

All About Seasonal Living

Last updated on December 6th, 2021.

What is Seasonal Living?

Our unique, holistic approach to healing and Seasonal Living supports you in re-establishing your innate alignment with Nature’s wisdom and spiral.

Through tending your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies with:

  • seasonal food and lifestyle practices
  • specific personal tools practiced at different times of the year when their potential is amplified
  • observing the archetypes of The Mother as outlined on InnerSpark’s Wheel of Frequencies
  • bringing awareness to our emotional and mental tendencies during the year
  • and more…

you’ll find greater ease and permission to flow (and not feel like you must be an automaton).

Seasonal Living is aligning with the inevitable changes of Nature.  It’s about surrendering to the flow and allowing the natural rhythms, rather than resisting them. Seasonal Living is about way more than just changing your wardrobe, enjoying watermelon in the summer, and maybe decorating for holidays. To truly live seasonally is the ultimate tool for personal, professional, and spiritual awakening and embodying your highest self in this lifetime.

Why Live Seasonally?

Seasonal Living provides an entry point into our sacred soul map as we journey through and embody the eight cosmic archetypal frequencies for sovereignty, healing, and transformation.

When we resist the natural rhythms of life, either consciously or subconsciously, we create dis-ease and disharmony on all levels of our being – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. We feel lost, disjointed, frustrated, and purposeless. We feel depleted and burnt out and aren’t tapped into our own life force energy.

The waxes and wanes of the seasons exist for a reason. All living things on Earth require periods of rejuvenation, purging, expansion, and building. We aren’t meant to exist in one of these phases indefinitely. Naturally, we each may have one we “like” more than the other, however, all are necessary.

The energies of each season and “sub-season” have very specific instructions for us. By tuning into what’s being asked of us in each moment and by looking to Mother Nature for guidance, we inevitably experience greater vitality, resiliency, and clarity.

How to Live Seasonally…

Each season, and each of the “sub-seasons” there in, have a specific flavor, invitation, and energy. For last many generations, our innate connection to this flow has weakened tremendously. In the beginning, it may feel foreign or even silly, however, remember that whether you are consciously tuned into the flow or not, you are being impacted.

Some tips for Seasonal Living:

• Check in with your four bodies and notice whatever is present. What is needed at this time? What are the natural impulses and urges?
Eat seasonally.
•Create a seasonal altar in your home.
•Align your personal care practices with the seasons.
•Change your physical activity seasonally.
•Change your yoga, meditation, and breathwork practices according to the seasons, as well

Work with Flower Essences that are aligned with the specific archetypal frequencies and invitations of each season – literally and energetically as they live through you at all times! Check out the Frequency Collection.

Each “sub-season” is roughly six weeks, just over 40 days. The 40-day period is one that is auspicious across many philosophies, lineages, religions, and more. It also takes about 40 days for a new habit to form and to drop something that has become toxic to your life. A great way to align is to select something to work with during that time that aligns with the sub-season for even greater shifts.

When Do Seasons Change?

The Wheel of the Year consists of the four main seasons – spring, summer, autumn, and winter – and four sub-seasons. Each season has two parts to it. To use the old Celtic terms we can think of them as follows:

Spring Equinox (Ostara) and May Day (Beltane)
Summer Solstice (Litha) and Lammas
Fall Equinox (Mabon) and Halloween (Samhain)
and Winter Solstice (Yule) and Groundhog Day (Imbolc)

The second part of the season is marked exactly halfway between the previous major season and the next major season. For example, Halloween (Samhain) is six weeks after the Fall Equinox and six weeks before the Winter Solstice (Yule). While the main energetic is tied to the major season of the time, the second six-week portal has a slightly different invitation for us.

Support Throughout the Whole Wheel of the Year

Spring

Spring is a beautiful transitional period between the deep rest of winter and the fully expressed, expansiveness of summer. It’s a time for sorting things out so we may take action on all that we imagined for ourselves during the introspection of winter. We’re invited to work with The Initiate and The Lover Frequencies.

Summer

Summer marks the end of the “Light Half of the Year” as the sun will shine its longest and then slowly begin its retreat into the “Dark Half of the Year” to be “reborn” again at the Winter Solstice. The energy in the collective is buzzing, vibrant, alive, gregarious, outgoing, expressive, and expansive. We’re invited to work with The Blacksmith and The Sacred Activist Frequencies.

Autumn

If the Wheel of the Year were likened to moon phases, autumn would be the waning phase before winter’s new moon and spring would be the waxing phase before summer’s full expression. Just as in those lunar phases each month, we are impacted. We’re invited to work with The High Priestess and The Death Doula Frequencies.

Winter

At the Winter Solstice, despite the fact that it’s the darkest (and coldest) time it’ll be all year, we’re welcoming the return of the light once more. This is the Wheel of the Year’s “New Moon” and a time for planting seeds in the darkness, the void, the place of no-thing from which all things manifest. We’re invited to work with The Void and The Cosmic Child Frequencies.

To fully embody, understand, and spiral with the seasons is so much more than what we’ve been taught. Working with the 8 cosmic archetypal frequencies is our way to true sovereignty, freedom, joy, healing, and a soul-led life. If you’re called to live as your Truest Self through aligning with Nature’s wisdom, I invite you to work with me in The InnerSpark Membership and/or individually.

Dear One, of this I know for certain: living in alignment with Nature’s wisdom is essential for us all – especially a highly sensitive soul.

Ready to ground into something real, wild, and magical, reclaim your Truest Self, heal your body and life, have clarity around your next steps, and more? You’re in the right place.

This monthly membership is your resource for living a life of greater wholeness, ease, simplicity, magic, clarity, health, and joy – all in alignment with Nature’s wisdom. Our unique, holistic approach to healing and Seasonal Living supports you in re-establishing your innate alignment with Nature’s wisdom and spiral.

  • bringing awareness to our emotional and mental tendencies during the year
  • and more…

you’ll find greater ease and permission to flow (and not feel like you must be an automaton).

The Wheel of Frequencies represent the eight cosmic archetypes of The Mother. We can see these mirrored to us literally through the seasons, yet these energies are so much more than that! They are within and around us at any given moment. They are guiding us, teaching us, and supporting us.

These are the members of your inner wisdom council.

Who’s calling to you right now? Take the quiz and find out!

Nature’s Medicine Bag

Last updated on January 10th, 2022.

Holistic Healing For Us All – EspeciallyHighly Sensitive Souls

A holistic approach to self-care, aligned with Nature’s wisdom, is the best medicine for us all – especially for a Highly Sensitive Soul. Through integrative medicine, that takes into account the overall health of a person’s body and mind, optimal health and thriving result.

When we choose to consciously nourish ourselves on a body, mind, and spirit, heart level, deep fulfillment and ease can be experienced!

Each of us carries a unique InnerSpark of the Divine that is our Truest Self.

When connected within and aligned with Nature’s wisdom, life is sweet. However, losing touch with Nature and our InnerSpark is the source of all that plagues our lives today – individually and collectively.

InnerSpark’s unique, holistic approach to healing and Seasonal Living supports us in re-establishing our innate alignment with Nature’s wisdom and spiral. Through intentionally tending our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies with food and lifestyle practices, observing the eight cosmic archetypes of The Mother as outlined on InnerSpark’s Wheel of Frequencies, bringing awareness to our emotional and mental tendencies during the year, and more, we find greater ease and permission to flow and not feel like we must be automatons.

Flower Essences are a form of energy medicine and represent the most subtle way of working with our plant allies. Engaging with plants in this way can be thought of as subtle or vibrational herbalism. We are engaging with the plant’s specific code or frequency on a soul level so it can influence healing and change from the core.

This is my most favorite holistic health modality and the benefits I have experienced firsthand and also witnessed is nothing short of miraculous. Sensitive Souls’ subtle natures benefit greatly from this potent form of plant medicine.

Holistic Nutrition

It continually fascinates me how humans are literally addicted to food. We source identities through diet protocols. We place morality on whether or not our food choices were “good” or “bad.” We spend so much time and money on fads, trends, and supplements yet we can’t seem to agree upon the “ideal human diet.”

Your greatest health care plan is from your food! Nutrition must be thought of as a holistic concept that includes all we take in through the senses, which is so much more than the food we put into our mouths. Sensitive Souls especially must come into a more harmonious relationship with their delicate systems.

My clients benefit from learning how to incorporate more Earth-made food into their lives, as well as get to the root of why food challenges and fixations are challenging them. Above all, they appreciate learning to view nourishment as a holistic concept.

Seasonal Living

Seasonal Living is aligning with the inevitable changes of Nature. It’s about surrendering to the flow and allowing the natural rhythms, rather than resisting them. Seasonal Living is more than just changing your wardrobe, enjoying watermelon in the summer, and maybe decorating for holidays. To truly live seasonally is the ultimate tool for personal, professional, and spiritual awakening and embodying your highest self in this lifetime.

Sensitive Souls are especially tuned into these shifts, whether they’re consciously aware or not! Many of my clients had never thought of “seasonal living” before and have reported significant changes in their lives, health, relationships, work, and more from learning to surrender to the cosmic flow.

Moon Wisdom

I have always had a deep love affair with the moon. Her cycles and phases and changes have delighted and excited me for as long as I can remember. I was born literally hours before a new moon and feel it’s no coincidence that I’ve always been especially partial to her when she’s in her dark phase.

Working consciously and in collaboration with the energies of the moon phases can seriously change your life, especially as a Sensitive Soul already so in tune! My clients benefit greatly from syncing with the energies of the moon and designing their life with these energies.

Embodiment Practices

The difference between exercise and movement is subtle, yet profound. I dislike using the word “exercise” because of the various connotations we have associated with it. Intentional movement allows us to become fully embodied and to notice our sensorial experience, bodily needs, emotional state, and more. It’s truly a catalyst for profound awareness and healing.

Embodiment practices are especially important for the Sensitive Soul as she, out of survival and old trauma, tends to live in her head a lot! My clients love the intuitively-facilitated embodiment practices and often have “life-changing” epiphanies as a result.

Yoga

Yoga goes far beyond physical postures. The intention of yoga is to “to yoke” or to unify and integrate our human and spirit selves. To me, yoga is the ongoing process of personal alchemy, wherein a third energy arises. In this case, that third energy is the unification of our human and spirit selves where we become physical embodiments of light and love, soul animating human form, the meeting place of Earth and spirit.

Embodiment practices such as these, as well as spiritual practices are simply imperative for the Sensitive Soul! My clients enjoy learning about ways to incorporate specific asanas (poses) into their life.

Meditation

Meditation is crucial for all humans, especially those on planet Earth at this time and beyond. The special population of humans that requires this daily tune up even more? The sensitive, intuitive, empathic souls, AKA my soul sisters.

Meditation is nothing new. It has been around for centuries and for good reason. Among all the traditions and styles, one common thread runs throughout: the ability to come to know thyself through repeatedly accessing the silent, still point within.

There’s no “right” way to meditate. There are so many choices because each of us is different and will resonate with a variety of methods. My clients love learning about the various types of meditations and enjoy special guided journeys and more!

Mudras

One of the practices of the ancient system of Yoga involves the use of “mudras,” which is Sanskrit for “gesture.” Through holding parts of the body, an eye gaze, and primarily the hands in specific ways, we are able to influence and direct subtle energy to bring about specific effects. Mudras can be used during meditation, with your breathwork practices, in yoga practices, as part of your energy healing practices, and more! My clients enjoy specially curated mudras to support their unique needs.

Breathwork + Pranayama

Breath is the flow of life, it is the guardian of life and the spark of magic required to animate this sacred physical vessel. Of the things required to maintain the physical body – sleep, food, water, breath – the one we can go the shortest amount of time without is breath. Without breath, there’s no life. Without conscious breath, life becomes unchanging, stale, and ripe with dis-ease.

Through consciously working with the breath, we are able to influence every single system in the body. Daily breathwork is essential to vital health and can bring about profound healing and evolution for the Sensitive Soul. My clients receive various breath practices selected just for them!

Energy Healing

Energy isn’t just this esoteric, intangible, theoretical concept. It exists along a spectrum from subtle to gross, that is intangible to tangible. Understanding the power of these subtle and unseen energies is vital to the success of any holistic practice as we cannot create sustainable, lasting change without addressing our core wounds and the root causes of our dis-ease.

That is to say, we can’t truly change the tangible, gross manifestations of our lives without tending to the subtle building blocks that make up those very manifestations. Sensitive Souls are specially attuned to the subtle realms by nature. My clients absolutely love activating this part of themselves and creating their own energy healing practices.

Energy Healing

Chakra Balancing

Chakras are energetic sites that correspond with different stages of the soul’s maturation process. Each site represents a stage of development, an archetype, and a function. Each one comes “alive” as we grow and come into our own maturation process from infant to adulthood.

There are seven main chakras that correspond with the seven main endocrine glands of the physical body. Learning about the physical and subtle energetic correspondences of these sites can equip the Sensitive Soul with self-awareness and tools for a fulfilling journey. My clients benefit from physical and energetic diagnostics and resources to bring about greater harmony and healing.

Chakras

Crystals

Crystals are made from minerals formed way deep down in the Earth over very long periods of time. A human life is just a blink of an eye on the geological timescale of crystals, and the depths from which these crystals travel to get to us are greater than we can fathom.

One of the things that I love about crystals so much is that while we can all talk about things unseen, about vibrations and subtle forces, about ancient times and secret depths, crystals are the physical manifestations of those concepts made tangible right in front of us. My clients love the specially curated crystals selected just for them!

Crystals

Authentic Spirituality

Spirituality isn’t religion and many people that are religious are not actually spiritual. Spirituality is a way of viewing the world. It’s a way of thinking, feeling, and believing, a way of surrendering to the greater flow, the Great Web of Life, cosmic order, Source, whatever you like to call it. It’s a continued practice of authentically communing with your Self without dogma, egoic blocks, fears, and trauma.

Especially as Sensitive Souls, coming into a relationship with the Great Mystery has the power to bring about greater purpose, health, fulfillment, and ease. My clients tend to come from backgrounds of spiritual trauma and it’s a joy to support them in unpacking these wounds.

Authentic Spirituality

Expressive Arts

Expressive Arts involves intuitively and impulsively creating pieces of art out of your preferred medium in an effort to give an outlet to an experience, an emotion, a sensation. Through this modality we’re able to process, digest, and come to an embodied cognizance. From this more integrated state, there’s clarity and direction.

Bringing the imaginal and formless into something tangible symbolizes the gestation and birthing process of the wisdom, ideas, and inspiration inherent in all emotions – if we simply took the time to be with them. The Sensitive Soul spends a lot of time in her head and can often be disconnected from her emotions. My clients enjoy these practices and unlocking their creative life force.

Expressive Arts

Shadow Work

I define Shadow Work as a process which allows us to access deep joy, purpose, and healing through our challenges and wounds. Shadow Work enables us to identify and uncover the roots of our core wound to transmute it into medicine. Shadow Work should be a process of integrating parts of ourselves we’ve disowned, shunned, or bypassed.

Shadow Work is about reclaiming and empowering ourselves through our trials and traumas. Sensitive Souls carry a lot of trauma with them due to their porous nature and a lifetime of being shamed for their gifts. My clients cite my methods as profound and life-changing.

Shadow Work Explained

Shamanism

Shamanism, by any name, aims to retrieve information, guidance, and support from Spirit, the ancestors, the elements, the subtle energetic building blocks around and within us. Through seeing to the heart and core of the matter at hand, Band-Aid solutions are foregone, and root healing can take place.

Although in our culture “shamanism” isn’t quite as recognized as energy healing, shadow work, or plant medicine, it’s all part of the greater cosmic web of resources here for our use. Shamanic journeywork is paramount to my personal and professional work and my clients enjoy the many aspects of these resources I bring to them.

Ancestral Healing

You are a unique individual and there’s no one like you! Everything about you is completely one-of-a-kind from your fingerprints to the way your DNA expresses itself to your gifts and personality.

However, as unique as you are, you are also the product of a long line of people that have come before you and everything that they experienced also lives in your cellular memory. Being courageous enough to address the legacy of dis-ease and strife is the biggest and most important first step in healing ancestral trauma. Sensitive Souls are here for a divine purpose and their gifts are incredibly sacred. They are the seers and the truth speakers and the ones ready to address the elephants in the room.

A Guide On Highly Sensitive, Intuitive, Empathic Souls

Last updated on January 3rd, 2022.

What Does it Mean to be Sensitive?

Words like “sensitive,” “intuitive,” and “empath” seem to be gaining in popularity recently and rightfully so! This small segment of the population possesses many magical attributes that are needed nowadays more than ever.

A highly sensitive person differs from simply having the quality of sensitivity or empathy. While humans at their core, in my opinion, are inherently loving and good and possess qualities of empathy and compassion, a highly sensitive person goes beyond simply possessing a quality. A highly sensitive person’s entire system on all levels – physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and energetically – is just completely different.

Highly sensitive people, and to a certain degree the other introverted, intuitive, empathic types, simply have highly sensitive nervous systems that require a simpler, slower, Nature-based way of living to safeguard their energy and health.

This post serves as a highly sensitive person’s guide to help you better understand your gifts!

What are the differences between highly sensitive people and…?

In all honesty, I find labels to be limiting, self-fulfilling, and at times, less helpful than not. The labels of “highly sensitive person,” “introvert,” “empath,” etc. can be helpful for people to learn more about themselves and the needs of their bodies and energy systems. Beyond that, I think it’s imperative to remember that all humxn beings are innately highly sensitive. It’s our nature.

As we move farther away from a more Nature-based way of living, many of us are simply numbed and disconnected. Those of us whose highly sensitive systems scream at us are blessed. We simply can’t tolerate a modern world’s hurried ways and through self-knowledge, we can be the desperately-needed change agents.

Roots of Sensitivity: What causes a person to be highly sensitive?

There are many reasons why someone is a highly sensitive person, and it is believed that we are simply born this way. However, many times the extent to which our traits develop and whether or not we’re able to view them as gifts stems from early life trauma. Our heightened sensory abilities, innate to each human, were hyper-aroused in response to trauma and therefore, developed more keenly. However, these abilities, the gifts of sensitivity, are meant to be used for creative, healing, magic-making purposes. The sensitive aspect of us is most connected to our inner child – read all about the inner child and re-accessing her here.

What Does it Mean to Be A Sensitive? 15 Ways to Tell

What are the signs of a highly sensitive person? How do you know if you are a highly sensitive person?  If you’ve ever been shamed for your emotions, feel like you see everything, are bothered more by sounds, smells, certain media, etc. than those around you, been projected upon for speaking truth and addressing elephants in the room, or have a deep well of love and compassion in your heart that longs to be expressed, read on, babe.

  • A highly sensitive person feels drained and overwhelmed in crowds, loud environments, and very stimulating situations – sometimes even if they’re only experiencing it through a screen.
  • A highly sensitive person is often quite intolerant of stimulants such as caffeine, sugar, nicotine, and the like.
  • A highly sensitive person is incredibly creative and feels deeply connected to artful expressions.
  • A highly sensitive person can “read” another like a book and pick up on the subtlest cues about their current state through their body language, facial expressions, voice tones, etc.
  • A highly sensitive person often feels quite spiritual and more comfortable in the liminal or “otherworlds” than they do in the physical, Earthly world.
  • A highly sensitive person often struggles with anxiety and physical health challenges such as autoimmune disorders, hormonal imbalances, digestive disturbances, and “mystery symptoms” that involve physical discomfort and pain.
  • A highly sensitive person feels incredibly deeply and finds themselves getting very involved in situations outside of themselves due to weak boundaries.
  • A highly sensitive person often feels overwhelmed by many stimuli happening simultaneously. A gathering of people conversing while simultaneously watching television and listening to music is their idea of hell.
  • A highly sensitive person can feel impacted by others’ moods.
  • A highly sensitive person has heightened sensory perceptions, meaning that some or all of their physical senses are picking up signals and cues more frequently.
  • A highly sensitive person feels things – emotions, energies, weather changes, arrangements of items in a room, EMFs from electronics, etc. – so deeply that they have visceral reactions.
  • A highly sensitive person cannot consume certain types of media because the imprints from these will also create unfavorable conditions in their system. Violent images may stick with them for days or appear in dreams, for example.
  • Due to heightened senses, they may experience highly sensitive hearing and they may be highly sensitive to music, highly sensitive to sound, and highly sensitive to noise and manage their environment as best they can and know that ear buds, noice canceling headphones, etc. can work wonders!
  • They may be highly sensitive to smells, especially chemicals and other synthetic materials. Learning to make personal care and cleaning products can help many reactions, is more cost-effective, and is much friendlier for the Earth.
  • A highly sensitive mind can mean trouble sleeping, trouble settling, overthinking and over analyzing. Practices like meditation, yin and restorative yoga, time away from electronics, time in nature, and exercise can soothe the mind.

What are the challenges and gifts?

Combine having this incredibly porous system with living in a culture that shames sensitivity, this population is more prone to challenges. Physical health challenges, anxiety, settling for mediocrity, staying small and quiet, not living one’s dreams and potential, and more can plague the sensitive. However, that doesn’t have to be your fate.

Feminine Shame + High Sensitivity

Highly sensitive, introverted, empathic people come in all shapes and sizes, of every culture, background, class, race, ethnicity, or gender. This trait is certainly more “feminine” (in my work, referred to as the Spiral Principle), which makes it more of a target for shaming and ridicule. The collective doesn’t necessarily want to face its gross misuse of vitality and face that fact that our unnatural ways of living are taking its toll on all beings and the Earth, too. Highly sensitive men arguably may have more of a challenge than highly sensitive women in our culture. Overall, this is an issue of Feminine Shame, which is discussed in great detail here.

How to Strengthen The Highly Sensitive Person

You are the way you are for a very special, specific purpose. It’s time to rise. Every single trait about you is a gift and rather than falling into the shame and resentment trap and trying to “fix” yourself and get the sensitivity out, I invite you to work with these qualities as gifts.

Seasonal Living + The 8 Cosmic Archetypes

Seasonal Living is way more than watermelon in summer and sweaters in winter. It’s about permission. Through energetically connecting to the sacred spiral rhythm of our being and of the cosmos, we’re reminded that it’s OK to be us, to feel deeply, to have cycles, to connect with the subtler energies. Read more for ways to connect to Seasonal Living.

Nature

Sensitive souls are more connected to Nature and require it for proper maintenance and clarity. Connecting to Nature and using her medicines through a variety of ways is non-negotiable.

Feminine Shame

Identify and heal the roots of what makes being a highly sensitive hard – feminine shame.

Spiral + Triangle Energy

Let go of any notions around gender or “masculine” and “feminine” and recognize the uniqueness of you, without society’s input. Womxn get shamed for being “hysterical” and men get shamed for being “too girly” when either are being their highly sensitive selves. Redefine.

Shadow Work

We resist parts of ourselves (like our sensitivity) because of deep programming and/or childhood or ancestral traumas. Addressing these layers and peeling away untruths is the way towards embodying sensitivity with reverence and purpose, and Shadow Work offers us an avenue.

Intuitive Energy Healing

Develop your own intuitive energy healing practices and strengthen your boundaries, feel more grounded, and become the clear channel you are meant to be.

Holistic Healing

Know the options you have for yourself when addressing anything in your life that needs healing – your physical body, your relationships, your mind, etc. Sometimes opting for more Nature-based, holistic options can yield better results for highly sensitive people.

Embodiment

Many sensitives are disconnected from their bodies. While we’re here on Earth, these wise and ancient vessels act as translators for us. If we’re not fully in our bodies and allowing them to guide us with sensations, we can’t fully create and thrive. Read more for embodiment practices.

Holistic Nutrition

Your physical body is your sacred temple and vessel. It’s also more delicate than the average person’s, which means it definitely requires proper, Earth-made nourishment. Additionally, I invite you to think of nutrition beyond food. That is holistic nutrition.

December 21, 2021 – February 2, 2022 (The Void Archetype): The Void is a place of formlessness that is in-between worlds. It’s a cocoon, a chrysalis for becoming and potentiality. It is the womb of The Mother. It’s a place of total rest for repairing, healing, restoration, and rejuvenation, before our re-animation. Is it time for you to rest deeply, Dear One? Are you feeling burnt out and unclear? Partner with The Void and re-establish your sacred spiral flow.
